About Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge
Buffelshoek is a farm with unique wildlife and a rich history. Buffelshoek if directly translated would be buffalo's corner. Surrounded by a mountain range with the same types of mountains that form part of the Mountain Zebra national park that is to the Northwest of the Buffelshoek Farm. The owners of this farm Dirk and Rosie Visser are well-known people in the Cradock district with Dirk Visser involved in the Cradock Seed “Wil jy Saai” business. The Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge gets its name by combining the two names Dirk and Rosie to “Dirosie” Lodge. Dirosie directly translated will sound much like “The small Rose”.
This new lodge is perfectly situated just outside the town Cradock far enough to give secluded privacy and quietness and near enough to quickly get something in town. With about 19km to Cradock you can get whatever you need.

This spot chosen by her is so high up in the mountain that it took a year and a half to build a road to get there. When you stand at her grave you'll only then be able to fully understand why out of all the places in the world she has lived and visited that she chose this spot to be laid to rest. From Johannesburg to Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge near Cradock via Colesberg
Take the N1 to Bloemfontein and continue until you reach Colesberg. From Colesberg you take the N9 towards Noupoort and Middelburg. From Middelburg take the N10 to Cradock. Turn right just before you go over the “Groot-Visrivier” at Cradock. Continue on this road (R337) for 16km where you will find the Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge gate on your right. Remember to take care when crossing the railway line.
From Johannesburg to Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge near Cradock via Gariepdam
Take the N1 to Bloemfontein and continue until you reach the Gariepdam R701 turnoff then take the turnoff. Follow the R33 past the Gariepdam and over the Damwall until you reach the R58 crossing. Turn left towards Venterstad road and just before reaching Venterstad you will find the crossing with the option to turn right unto the R390 to Steynsburg. Follow the road to Steynsburg and turn right at the t-junction in Steynsburg. Follow the directions to Hofmeyer and from Hofmeyer to Cradock.
At Cradock turn right into Ziervogel Street. Ziervogel change to Deary Avenue. Deary Avenue change to Stockenstroom. Change into J.A. Calata Straat. Turn right into Church Street follow the road past Cradock Seed and over the “Groot-Visrivier bridge” turn left unto the R337. Continue on this road (R337) for 16km where you will find the Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge gate on your right. Remember to take care when crossing the railway line.
From Port Elizabeth to Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge near Cradock
From Port Elizabeth you take the N2 past the Sundays River and then take the N10 past Paterson and Middleton to Cookhouse and from Cookhouse to Cradock.
At Cradock turn left into Voortrekker Street and right into J.A. Calata Street. Turn left into Church Street follow the road past Cradock Seed and over the “Groot-Visrivier bridge” turn left unto the R337. Continue on this road (R337) for 16km where you will find the Buffelshoek Dirosie Lodge gate on your right. Remember to take care when crossing the railway line.
